Home, Nature, Urbanisation and Loneliness
- “A Gloomy Saturday” (2020) by Maile-Helena, a 17-year-old high school student in Finland who enjoys nature. This photograph was taken on a car ride back home with a regular cell phone without any filters and has not been edited. The buildings in the photograph are old barns on a field on the side of the road.
- “The Beauty of the Ocean” (2020) is a photograph taken by me, Elias V. It portrays the beautiful ocean near Lauttasaari. The picture has many other eye-catching details, such as the sky or the forest on the other shore. I took the photograph with my phone while I was taking my dog out. What I think this photograph excels at is the coloring. I think that the blue sky with a hint of yellow is a beautiful combination of colors. It symbolizes spring and its colors.
- “The Continuous Road” is a photograph taken by 17-year-old photography artist named Amer who lives in Espoo, Finland. Amer is inspired by beautiful nature, animals, different cultures and architecture. The photo was taken on his phone, while he went outside for a walk. In the picture you can see a road, that seems to continue forever and Amer got inspired from it and decided to take a photo. Amer says that the beauty of a picture lies in the fact, that it can have many different interpretations.
- “A Tree Near My Home” by Juho. This is a maple tree near my home in Espoo Nuuksio. I took this picture two days ago because this tree means a lot to me. My grandparents grew the tree in my birth year 2003. Maple is also a beautiful tree when it has large orange leaves. This picture was taken on the phone. I like nature a lot so the subject is also important for me. The background you see is from my bedroom window, so you can see that I live in the middle of the forest. Nature photos interest me a lot.
- “Tower Bridge” (2016) by Elias K. is a photograph of one of the oldest structures in London. The construction of Tower Bridge began in 1886 and it was officially opened in 1894. I took this picture the first time we visited London. This picture was taken using the camera on my old Samsung Galaxy J5. This picture was taken from the south bank side of Tower Bridge. I like this picture because it’s an iconic landmark of London. This was probably the best picture I could have taken of it, considering the equipment that I had.
- “Beautiful Nature” (2019) by Matias, a 16-year-old student from Espoo. He likes his country nature. This photo was taken with a phone camera without any filters. Picture was taken last summer at Höytiäinen which is big lake in Finland. You can also visit this place because the picture is taken from Koli and everyone can visit there. It is skiing center and nature park for everyone.
- “The Spring Forest” (2020) by Patrik. The picture was taken in mid-spring when the snow has started to melt. Moss and the forest floor have emerged after a snowy winter. The view is really great as the green moss has made the gray rocks colorful. Also, the lake in the background makes the view breathtaking. The picture was taken with a phone and no effects had been applied to it. I didn’t have to edit the image at all because the lighting was just right. Forests like this are perfect for nice spring walks.
- “The View from My Bed” by Baran, a 17-year old boy from Espoo, who likes to sleep in his own bed and exactly this has inspired him to take this photo of the view from his bed. This is what Baran sees every night before going to sleep and every morning when he wakes up. Baran does have curtains but they are not seen in this particular photo. The curtains are really useful when the view from your bed is like this.

As a photographer the artist wants to represent detailed pictures of the natures miracles.
- “The Way to the Unknown” (2019) by Ilaida, a normal girl from Finland who dreams a lot. This picture depicts the Finnish nature and its beauty. The trees were orange. The artist was sitting in the middle of the road trying to take this picture while an old man was laughing. Eventually the artist missed her bus because she was spending too much time taking this photograph. She got angry with herself and sat 30 minutes at the bus stop and edited the photo. She was still proud of her shot even though she was late from school.
- ”The Abyss of Loneliness” (2020) by Kevin, a 16 year old artist from Espoo who often uses real-life models of animals to describe his current feelings in life. The picture he took was taken with a normal phone camera without any filters. In the picture you can see a frog surrounded by rocks that suggests that the frog is alone and lonely. This is only one of many animals he likes to use in his portraits. Personally, I think that his art is going to succeed and he might even be the next Leonardo Da Vinci of digital art.
